  • Our Culture

BDO Taranaki supports a number of social and community ventures that have a positive impact on the local community and economy. Being locally owned and operated, we understand the importance of giving back and participating within our community.

Some of our sponsorships and community projects include:

▶ New Plymouth Operatic Society

We maintain a close relationship with the Society through our ongoing sponsorship with the provision of accounting services.

▶ Taranaki Young Professionals (TYP)

As a Silver Sponsor we back TYP’s initiative to introduce every young professional in Taranaki to new friends, big ideas and the tools to achieve more. Supporting young professionals around the region to engage with likeminded people, further their knowledge and profile and to have some fun!

▶ Taranaki Chamber of Commerce

We are a key strategic partner of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce. We work closely with the Chamber team to help ensure its members can build business connections, access business expertise, receive training and save on business expenses. All helping those businesses make the sound decisions they need to succeed.

▶ Young Enterprise Scheme (YES)

We provide staff to help year 12 and 13 students set up and run their own business for a year. It is an incredible practical learning experience that thousands of students around the country participate in each year.

▶ Wellbeing Conference

Held by the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce this Wellbeing Conference is a full day event that highlights the importance of health and wellbeing within the workplace.  There is a focus on four categories; mental wellbeing, financial wellbeing, physical/nutritional wellbeing and general workplace wellbeing. We are proud to be ongoing sponsors of the Financial Wellbeing sector.

▶ Oxfam Trailwalk

Oxfam Trailwalker involves teams of 4 walking 50km or 100km all starting and finishing together, all donations go towards fighting injustices that keep families trapped in poverty for generations. Every year a team from BDO Taranaki enters in the Oxfam Trailwalker with many fundraisers done before hand to raise money.

▶ Taranaki Community Education

We are proud to be a gold sponsor of the Taranaki Community Education online learning hub for their te reo Māori learners. We are looking forward to seeing the hub expand and develop into an amazing resource for their learners.
