As BDO Rotorua's Managing Partner, Stephen provides taxation and accounting advice to a broad range of clients and industries including clients from the primary sector (e.g farming, forestry and sawmilling), retail, manufacturing and property.

Stephen has been involved for several years in many aspects of the forestry industry. This includes advising on and managing reporting for offshore investors, improving systems to aid decision-making and enhance profitability; and due diligence for purchasers and vendors.

Other work includes presenting financial statements, assisting clients with GST and income tax compliance, preparing cash forecasts and financial systems reviews.

Stephen is experienced in Corporate Finance matters including due diligence for business acquisitions, business valuations and business structural advice. He has a particular interest in business start-ups and succession planning.

Being a BDO Accredited Family Business Adviser enables him to work closely with small business owners to meet their personal and business goals. These skills have been essential when implementing family business succession plans for farming and non-farming families.
