EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Tanya has been a valued senior member of the BDO Gisborne team for over 28 years. Her first introduction to the firm was via a student internship that allowed her to undertake extramural studies towards a university accounting and business qualification.
In 1990 she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree and headed to the United Kingdom (UK) to commence her working holiday. During her time in the UK, she worked for a number of large corporate firms within the commercial sector, gaining extensive experience as a management accountant which also included a team of 20 staff reporting to her.
On returning to Gisborne in 1993, she continued her commercial client focus but over time has spread her ‘wings’ in many different directions. This has seen her develop expertise in a number of key disciplines from auditing and assessing accounting software systems through to financial modelling, budget forecasting and designing tailored reporting systems to meet detailed client specifications and requirements.
Nothing gives Tanya more satisfaction then to help clients she works with achieve the outcomes they want for their businesses. Currently she has been working on special projects for a group of clients whilst also fulfilling senior management roles within these entities.
Tanya was appointed to the role of Associate in August 2017, and is looking forward to building on the key client relationships she has established within the local business community.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Community and family is at the heart of everything Tanya does. She is a proud Gisborne local, wife to Chris and mother to Nicole and James. She believes in giving back to the community and this is reflected in the following governance and volunteer positions she has previously held:
