Richie is the Managing Partner of BDO Southern Lakes and Central Otago and has over 20 years of accounting and business experience. He prides himself on the commercial way he approaches business, always looking for the best overall outcomes for clients, not just the tax position.

Richie has gained valuable experience in the United Kingdom and spent several years as CFO for a multi-national tourism company based out of Queenstown.

Richie has significant experience in the tourism and property sectors and is frequently engaged in an advisory capacity to assist clients with special assignments including deal advisory (buy and sell side), valuations, restructuring and refinancing.

Richie’s commercial experience is vast with clients in most sectors and industries including construction, horticulture, commercial property, property development, real estate and retail. Leaning on his years as a CFO, Richie has extensive experience with international structuring and frequently advises clients in this capacity.

In his years as Managing Partner of BDO SL&CO's predecessor firm, Richie oversaw growth that saw the firm triple in size.

Richie is an appointment member of the BDO New Zealand National Board.

Richie is also active in serving the community through a number of Boards.
