EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Mark is an Associate Director within our Auckland audit practise. He started with BDO as a graduate in 2011. Following qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Mark went on long term secondment to our London office, where he was based for three years.
Since returning in 2018, Mark has been involved in audit and assurance engagements with a wide array of clients across many sectors and industries. He has current experience with ASX and NZX listed entities as well as private equity backed businesses.
He has a high degree of proficiency in the IFRS accounting standards, and he relies on strong project and people management skills to meet reporting deadlines and clients’ expectations.
Mark also has experience with not-for-profit organisations, including many New Zealand sporting bodies and other charities.
Mark interacts with management and Boards on an ongoing basis. He places an emphasis on producing high quality written reports that are digestible for non-accountants. This is backed by open communication of issues and challenges faced through the financial reporting process.
Mark’s time spent in London has led to a deep knowledge of the natural resources and renewable energy sector, and also experience with FTSE, AIM, and TSX listed companies.
Outside of life at BDO, Mark enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running around with his golden retriever Atley, making the most of Auckland’s North West craft breweries and wineries, and he is attempting to work on his golf swing.
